At Monument by Green Front indoor-outdoor living is more than a modern trend. It’s part of the home’s DNA woven into the original 1920s architecture.
Architect William Bottomley and landscape designer Charles Gillette created this Mediterranean Revival home with an interior courtyard meant to be an extension of the living area. Original owner J. Scott Parrish understood the importance of outdoor space, and that vision still guides the renovation today.
As Bottomley wrote in Spanish Details (1924): “The garden is practically an extension of the plan of the house and forms a great outdoor living space, as useful and as much used as are the interior rooms.”
