8th Annual Holiday Gala a Huge Success, Raising $50,000 for Shelter Animals
FARMVILLE, Va. (December 18, 2024) – The Barn at Poor House Farm was aglow on Saturday, December 7, 2024, as Green Front Furniture proudly presented the 8th Annual SPCA Holiday Gala. The gala is Southside SPCA’s major fundraiser each year, this year raising $50,000. This year’s sold-out event was held in a new, picturesque venue. Money raised will provide vital funds for local shelter pets. The gala drew animal lovers from across the region for a night of celebration, community and compassion.
As the gala’s presenting sponsor, Green Front collaborated with the SPCA to organize a standout event, donating furniture and seasonal decor for the live and silent auctions. Guests enjoyed live music by Joker, delicious food by Fuqua Catering and a festive atmosphere, all while contributing to a cause close to this company’s heart.
“Our ongoing partnership with the Southside SPCA is one of the many ways Green Front gives back to our local community,” said Green Front Furniture President and CEO Den Crallé. “As a third-generation, family-owned company rooted in Southside Virginia for over 50 years, we’re proud to support the shelter’s incredible work through this fantastic event.”
Green Front Gives Back
The gala continues Green Front’s longstanding commitment to the Southside SPCA. Previous donations from Green Front include furniture for the shelter’s lobby. In addition, the Virginia furniture store Sponsors the WFLO Green Front Dog of the Week initiative, which has helped hundreds of pets find homes since 2023. The Virginia store company is known throughout Virginia and North Carolina for its dog-friendly stores. Green Front welcomes customers and their well-behaved pups to browse nearly a million square feet of furniture at their Farmville flagship store, as well as at their showrooms in Manassass, Va., and Raleigh, N.C.
“At Green Front, our commitment to animals extends far beyond our pet-friendly stores,” said Crallé. “We believe every pet deserves a loving home, and we’re proud to help make that happen through our sponsorship of the Southside SPCA.”
In addition to supporting local animal shelters, Green Front sponsors a number of cancer charities, including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Cancer Retreat Centers’ Blanton House in Richmond, Virginia.
