Silk is an expensive but stunning material found in our rugs. Silk yarn highlights design details in traditional, transitional and contemporary rugs. The sheen and texture of this yarn lends a lavish and luxurious finish.
In many instances, the silk content of a traditionally designed rug ranges from 10% to 25%. Many transitional and contemporary rugs, however, contain upwards of 50% to 80% silk.
On Your Floor:
- Pure silk rugs are not ideal for kitchens and other high traffic areas
- Silk/wool blends are substantially more durable
- Though extra soft, silk does require professional cleaning
